A visit by Asha for Education, Silicon Valley - USA

A couple of days back, we received a few visitors from Asha for Education Foundation's Silicon Valley chapter.

Asha Silicon Valley is a chapter of Asha for Education, a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organization dedicated to bring socio-economic change in India.

Mission: To catalyze socio-economic change in India through education of underprivileged children

While most of their efforts are focused around the education of underprivileged children, they also work on holistic solutions for communities they work with. Asha Silicon Valley currently works with 35 projects in 12 states of India in a wide range of areas of education and development. Asha Silicon Valley's annual budget is over $600,000 for 2012 and they are actively looking for ways and volunteers to meet their target.

Asha Silicon Valley is an early and continued supporter of Satsang Vidyalaya. They are represented by two lovely volunteers from Silicon Valley - Bhanu and Madhu - a wife/husband team.

More details of our cooperation with Asha Silicon Valley can be found here: http://www.ashanet.org/projects/project-view.php?p=868

Now, onto their visit to our school in Madanapalle!

This kid DOES know the answer!

Boom! Problem solved!

Bhanu is the project steward in charge of Satsang Vidyalaya's funding and progress updates with her chapter in Silicon Valley.

Hey Ms teacher! Playground = "PLAY" in the ground!

Either they're taking apart something...or they're putting it back together. Whatever it is, its broken!

Some of the classroom construction in progress. More students next year?! Yippee!

Stephen, our Director's office. The first time EVER we've seen toys in a director's room. Wonder if he plays with them when nobody's looking.

Another classroom construction in progress. Our guests were given a great tour by Mr Stephen.
